ABOUT ALYSSA K

I am orginally from a suburb about twenty minutes away from Cleveland called Westlake, OH. I graduated from Westlake High School in 2015 and I am currently attending the University of Cincinnati. I am going to be a fourth year double Psychology and Sociology major and I am in the University Honors Program.

In high school, much of my time was devoted to schoolwork and dancing. I have been dancing since the first grade and it is one of my greatest passions. I have studied various genres of dance including: Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Hip-Hop, Tap, and Acrobatics. I still continue to study dance at the University of Cincinnat by taking Ballet technique classes. Aside from dance and school, I enjoy reading in my free time as well as photography. Pictures i've taken are displayed throughout the website.

One of the things that influenced me to choose Psychology was my interest in the behaviors of people that grew from my love of reading and fiction. I have always felt that classic literature resignates so easily to people because it mimics behavior patterns of real life. I also declared a double major in Sociology in my second year after taking sociogically based classes. At the University of Cincinnati I have loved being a part of the Psychology and Sociology Major and I am also a member of the Psychology Club, Sociology Undergraduates Association, a social sorority, an honors society, and a psychology honors society. I am currently working with a faculy member on a research project. I will be applying to Social Psychology PhD programs this fall. I really enjoy being challenged academically and in all of my other passions and I am happy to have found a home at UC.
